Padova is one of the most charming towns in Italy and hosts a lively University that is among the oldest in Europe. The historical centre boasts a wealth of medieval, renaissance and modern architecture.
From Giotto to Mantegna, from Donatello to Galileo Galilei, Padova has been host to the greatest artists and scientists of the ages, making it a temple of knowledge. Visiting Padova means a full immersion in arts, history and culture! Moreover, it is in a central position to reach Venice, Verona and the Garda lake, the Dolomites and Adriatic Seaside. Padova is also a conference-friendly city as its medium-size allows short transfers from one point to another, the several airports in the surroundings make it easily accessible and the reasonable hotel rates define Padova as a very good destination.
2024 will be a very important date for Padova and its University, as the 800-year foundation will be celebrated. Several events are expected for the anniversary, among them EPDIC18.
The EPDIC Conference is the biennial meeting dedicated to all aspects of the analysis of polycrystalline materials by diffraction methods. It brings together experts from universities, research institutes and instrumentation companies to share their knowledge and discuss the current trends and challenges in powder diffraction.
In agreement with the traditional character of this Conference, EPDIC18 will yield an exciting scientific program that will cover a broad range of hot traditional and new topics interesting to the powder community.
Hoping everybody will enjoy an interesting conference and a pleasant stay, it is our great pleasure to welcome all of you in Padova.
